Outside the Priceonomics office today was a sad sight. A bike that had been locked using a u-lock and two cable locks was stripped down to just the frame.

Both the cable locks were cut and almost everything of value was stripped from the bike: the seat, the front fork, the handlebars, the front and rear wheel, the gear shifters. The u-lock held, but it only managed to save the frame.

If you’re not sure how to lock your bike, check out our guide to locking your bike here.

And remember, if you lock something with just cable lock, it’s as good as not locking it at all.
